Fulton Pathfinder Trail—Exterior Solar Lighting Project

Shawn Malone Excavating, Inc. worked closely with SOLTECH to source a high-quality solar lighting solution for the Fulton Pathfinder Trail Exterior Lighting Project. As one of the latest trail and park lighting projects in the cold-weather environment of New York, SOLTECH and the contractor partnered to make an essential change to the original lighting plan. Tasked with the goal of adding value and reliable exterior lighting for the Fulton Pathfinder Trail, a substitution was made, and the superior SUNLIKE PRO 30W was identified as the optimal solution.

Cold Weather Solar Trail Light Solution

SUNLIKE PRO 30W is an impressive cold-weather lighting unit designed to deliver complete lighting coverage at an astounding 200 lumens per watt efficiency. SUNLIKE PRO 30W, a far more energy-efficient solution compared to the originally planned fixtures, is a commercial solar light that offers convenience and reliability.  Its all-in-one design provided a streamlined installation process, saving the contractor time and effort. The complete assembly included (8) solar fixtures mounted on 15-foot steel poles with a 4-inch OD. This solar street light was specifically chosen to meet the demands of the trail’s lighting needs while withstanding the cold New York weather.

The Importance of Trail and Park Outdoor Solar Lighting

Lighting plays a crucial role in creating safe and accessible outdoor spaces, especially for trails and pathways used by pedestrians. The City of Fulton required proper illumination to enhance visibility, prevent accidents, deter crime, and ensure the community feels safe after dark. By lighting up public spaces such as parks and trails, municipalities such as the City of Fulton can encourage more community use and outdoor activities even during evening hours.

Solar Pathway Light Area Coverage

For this specific trail and park lighting project, SOLTECH followed the site plans and drawings to produce lighting calculations using SUNLIKE PRO 30W. By running photometric analysis, lighting distribution and coverage ensured every inch of the trail was properly illuminated. This attention to detail helped to deliver a solution that met the criteria for both safety and visibility, all while exceeding performance expectations.

Supporting Existing Systems with Solar Innovation

In some areas of the site, the SUNLIKE PRO 30W solar area lights acted as a complementary system to existing parking lot lighting. Their ability to seamlessly integrate and support on-grid lights further demonstrated their versatility. The powerful performance of these solar street lights has shown the potential for solar parking lot lighting to completely replace traditional grid-powered systems offering a reliable and cost-effective alternative.

Conclusion

Selecting the right solar path light is often a difficult decision due to the wide range of options out on the market; however, SUNLIKE PRO 30W makes it easy to exceed expectations. For Shawn Malone Excavating and the City of Fulton, SUNLIKE PRO 30W delivered strong, consistent lighting coverage that fully met the project’s criteria and more. This energy-efficient solution not only offered high performance but also proved to be a cost-effective choice for the contractor and a smart decision for the city, cementing SOLTECH’s position as a leader in advanced solar lighting solutions.
